Building Connections, One Bridge at a Time
Though this is our first year as the Okanagan chapter, we are proud to join the global efforts of Engineers in Action.
Our aim is to make a lasting impact by contributing to bridge projects that reduce rural isolation and improve
access to essential resources. Here are examples of other successful EIA projects that inspire our mission.
Featured Projects:
Project Example 1: Bolivia
In rural Bolivia, EIA constructed a suspended footbridge that connected 1,000 people to healthcare and educational
facilities that were previously inaccessible during the rainy season.
Project Example 2: Eswatini
A bridge in Eswatini allowed over 2,500 people to safely cross a river to access markets and medical services,
reducing travel time by hours and increasing economic opportunities.
Looking Ahead: We are excited to launch our first project soon and continue building bridges—both
literally and figuratively. Stay tuned for updates on how we will bring change to underserved communities.
